Sergeant Floyd Monument  -  Sioux City, IA.  On August 20, 1804, Sergeant Charles Floyd died at the age of 22 of natural causes -- probably the result of a ruptured appendix.  He was the only member of the expedition to die.  The 100 ft. stone monument was erected in his memory.
